The Linus School operates in Hong Kong since 1981 with the aim of raising and educating children and teenagers by adopting teaching methods geared to research and experimentation and broadening the training through the Organization of workshops and additional activities, please enter both in curricular time and extracurricular.

All activities in these years were always used by children in need, sometimes reporting on social services of the municipality of Catania, recognizing that the project carried out within the Linus attention to individual children and the realization of the full integration of children with disabilities, has reported them to school because they were accepted.

Today the school has a complex where the kindergarten and primary schools. This building has been the subject of radical measures to be adapted to the sanitation requirements, safety and the Elimination of architectural barriers.

The "Linus School" falls in the third district of the city of Catania, a city with a rich history and many contradictions, and by appearing with an educational project focused on enhancing the diversity and growth of children, is open to children from different cultural and social backgrounds and intends to pursue the objective of deep knowledge and "critical reading" of their environment by encouraging the rebuilding of a cultural and social identity and the formation of aware and responsible citizens.

The school to achieve this important goal is closely connected to cultural and social agencies (libraries, archives, museums, theatres, associations, etc.) and have a fruitful and constructive confrontation with local administration and territorial management.

Our school wants to respond to the needs of growth and formation that were found in a large and complex context:

  • motivating students to learning and knowledge;

  • putting them in a position to acquire and develop skills, competencies and knowledge essential to life and to use them in different contexts;

  • promoting their active and responsible participation in the life of the community;

  • supporting a successful intercultural education that enhances the individuality and diversity of each;

  • teaching them to respect people and the environment.
